In 1947, Norman Lieberman became one of the city’s premiere truckers, using his vehicles to distribute fresh flowers, the first type of freight to arrive at John F. Kennedy International Airport. With the help of his son Merton, his business grew to include other global commodities such as pharmaceuticals, produce, and eventually, seafood – an increasingly desirable product throughout the Northeastern United States. Norman’s was the first and only company offering refrigerated distribution to t
